Peterborough Art Centre Upgrade 2023

The Official Opening of the new upgrades to the Art Centre grounds took place on Wednesday 20th September 2023.  These were acieved by the FRRR $30K+ grant that was awarded to us and to be completed over a 3 year period and was signed off and finalised this year.

The Honourable Rowan Ramsey, Federal Member for Grey, officially opened the upgraded facility after being introduced by Mayor Ruth Whittle who gave a very interesting brief history of the land on which the Art Centre sits. A lovely morning tea was provided, with quite a few people in attendance. Following this Mr Ramsey went for a walk to viewthe facilities that the grant provided and was very impressed and admires the spirit of Peterborough as a community coming together. Before leaving Mr Ramsey was presented with a small photo album highlighting the before and ater shots of the grants progress and was amazedby the difference it has made to the area.

As well as the exterior improvements, there have been some upgrades inside, with grateful thanks going to our sponsors -- John Schofield, Mike Kemp (Millicent) and Des and Jeanette Cock.

The Art Gallerywill be opening in 2024, so that will be something to watch out for, and will be fantastic for locals and visitors to view different exhibitions as they happen. A wide variety of artists are interested in displaying their creations.

In keeping with the times, new signage has been completed and delivered and will be going up around the Art Centre soon.
